Kistler Model 6171B Quartz High-Temperature Pressure Sensor
High-Temperature
pressure sensor with integrated metal cable for measuring
the melt pressure at temperatures up to 400C in front
of the screw or in the externally heated hotrunner of
molds. The sensor measures the pressure directly and does
not contain any liquid for transmitting the pressure.
The Type 6171BA is of very compact design and fits even
where space is at a premium. The stable metal cable requires
no spacers or supports.
These sensors, installed in the cylinder head or the nozzle, are suitable for measuring
the melt pressure in front of the screw. During interruption in production or change of material, the melt gap may
deteriorate, which can lead to measuring errors unless the gap is cleaned each time. For this reason, these sensors are
suitable for laboratory experiments. They are ideal for calibrating longitudinal measuring pins Type 9245B, which are installed
in the cylinder head for measuring the melt pressure indirectly. Type 6171BB is especially suited for externally heated
hotrunners, because it has a flexible cable whose length can be chosen.
